Stefanie and Nick seriously have to be in the top 10 of our cutest couples. I mean, just look at how pumped he is right after they were pronounced "husband and wife"! And the advice he got on his handkerchief? Perfection. They had a lovely intimate ceremony and reception at Black on Burlington, and we had lots of relaxed time to cruise around KC for some fun portraits with just the two of them. It really was a perfect day and we are so happy we were invited to be part of it. Stefanie and Nick, thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. We wish you the very best as you start this new chapter of your life together!
A while back we donated a portrait session to a silent auction fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Brooke was the lucky winner! So of course, she then contacted us about redeeming her session. It just so happened that Brooke was also recently engaged, and wanted to discuss the possibility of us also documenting her wedding to Andrew. Thankfully, we all hit it off and away we went! These two live downtown and especially love hanging out in that part of our beautiful city. So, they picked a few favorite spots [and shirts] and we went out and had some fun on a beautiful summer day. Art Alley is always a great stop, and we will NEVER say no to an arcade visit with beer [especially at Up-Down]. We included one photo in this bunch just for fun. Can you spot the clever photo bomber? Thanks dude. You made us laugh. Brooke and Andrew, we CAN'T WAIT for your big day this October. It will be here before you know it!
Lindsey and Aaron have been together for a very long time. Like since high school long time. And they finally made it official! Their day started out spending time with their family and closest friends getting ready to say "I do". Once they couldn't possibly look any better, they headed over to the quaint neighborhood Country Club Congregational United Church of Christ [say that 10 times fast] to officially become "Mr. and Mrs.". After a few quick portraits, they ended up at 28 Event Space to party and dance the night away. It was a classically beautiful wedding day focused on all the right things, and we are so glad we got to document it for them. Lindsey and Aaron...thank you for letting us be part of your celebration. We wish you many more years of love and happiness!

Many moons ago, we shot Brandon and Theresa's wedding. Then, a couple years later, they welcomed little Charlie into the world. And now, he is getting so big and this adorable little family was way overdue for some photos. So, we went out with them on a recent evening and just had some fun! The way Brandon and Theresa love each other and their little man is just the best. We can't wait until next time, guys!
Maggie and Drew found us through one of our most beloved couples of all time. You know who you are. Right after they booked their wedding with us, planning for their engagement session began. They both love the outdoors, and definitely wanted to reflect that in their photos. So we trekked down to beautiful Hillsdale, KS and found some picture perfect spots. Don't the smiles in their eyes and her awesome laugh just show you how in love they are with each other? We absolutely can't wait for their big day this winter. Until then....
20 years ago [seriously...how is that even possible?], we said "I do" in this very same garden. So, when Katya and James contacted us about their wedding at the Simpson House, we knew it was just meant to be. Just looking through and working on their images has taken us right back to our own special day. What a gift. These two incorporated some special Jewish and Russian elements into their day, and we were so thrilled to be able to be there to document it all. From their first look in the same spot we had ours, to creating a photo similar to one taken on Katya's parents wedding day, it was truly the perfect day. Katya and James, thank you for allowing us to be with you on your most special of days. It was such an honor.
After shooting weddings for 13 years, one of our favorite things is when we photograph a couple who we "just know" will make it. Or is meant to be. Or whatever phrase you want to use. Bob and Larry are one of those couples and it is such an honor to tell their story. They have been together for 18 years, and were finally able to make it official! This was clearly cause for a big celebration, and that is exactly what they did. Their most loved family and friends gathered at The Brass on Baltimore for a beautiful ceremony that included lots of special kids in their life. Ladies wore fabulous hats and fascinators, everyone danced the night away, and the evening was capped off with a fabulous view of one of KC's best fireworks displays. This truly couldn't have been a better day, and we are so grateful to have been there. Bob and Larry...thank you from the bottom of our hearts for inviting us to be part of your day. Here's to the next 18 years!
Tara and her family own Mélange Dance and Events in beautiful downtown Mission, KS. So we were thrilled when Tara and Steven made the quick walk down the sidewalk to our studio and met with us about documenting their wedding. The day started out with some very questionable weather and "Plan B" was being made in order to ensure that portraits could be taken, and that the gorgeous bride wouldn't end up in a soaking wet wedding dress. But somehow, at just the right moment, the clouds parted, the sun peeked out, and everything just fell into place! Don't you just love it when things like that happen? They officially became Mr. and Mrs. at one of our favorite little churches in Brookside, and then they headed to none other than Mélange for their reception. The food truck grub was out of this world, and with all the talented dancers in attendance, it was a night to be remembered. Tara and Steven, thank you for letting us be part of your celebration. It was truly an honor.

Jennifer and Eric officially tied the knot in beautiful Cancun, but of course, also wanted to plan a celebration for their local tribe. With gorgeous cloudy skies, their closest family and friends by their sides, and tons of laughs, this day went off without a hitch. Their wedding party hit up Tom's Town for some pre-party cocktails, and then they partied the night away at The Bauer. We don't normally post traditional family portraits on the blog, but how could we not post this one of her family? Can you take a guess at what happened right before this one was fired? We'll never tell. Jennifer and Eric, congratulations on your new Mr. + Mrs. status. We wish you many many years of love and happiness. Keep laughing, friends.
Many many moons ago, Jason and John worked together. So we were elated when John contact us, said he was engaged, and that he and his beautiful fiance, Tara, wanted us to document their wedding! But first things first. We recently went out to get some engagement images for this lovely couple. And thankfully we put some rain backup dates on our calendar when we scheduled their session. This session actually took three days. Yep. We had to go out three days in a row in order to get it finished, because every time we started shooting, it started raining. It seems as if KC will be underwater soon. Tara and John were super good sports though, and we had a blast! They both live on the Plaza, so they wanted to spend some time just hanging out in their hood, to start. And Twin City Tavern is one of their all time favorites, so to Westport we went! Overall, it was just a really fun time [you can tell from Tara's fabulous laugh, right?]. You guys...we can't wait for the big day!!!
